About
Pavlína Walter is a visionary innovator in healthcare who connects science, clinical research, and technology to create solutions that are both cutting-edge and human-centered. With more than 20 years of international experience across Europe, the United States, and Asia, she has built a career on courage to innovate, the ability to unite diverse stakeholders, and a constant focus on measurable impact.
Pavlína was born and raised in the Czech Paradise region, surrounded by a close-knit family where most relatives were doctors, many of them oncologists. Growing up during the communist era, she learned resilience, the value of care, and developed an early dream of working internationally. She studied pharmacology, completing her degree quickly when she realised that working in a pharmacy was not her calling.
Her professional journey began in September 2006 when she joined Chiltern International as a Clinical Research Associate. She quickly demonstrated her ability to manage complex projects and build trust with stakeholders.
In June 2009, Pavlína became General Manager for Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Serbia at KCR. By the age of 26, she was managing operations across four countries, setting up offices from scratch, hiring teams, negotiating with banks, and establishing accounting and operational systems. Her leadership transformed the region into one of the company’s most profitable.
In August 2013, she moved to the United States to become Vice President of Clinical Operations and Project Management for USA and EU at InStar Technologies. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, she led cross-continental teams, collaborated with leading academic institutions including Stanford and UC Berkeley, and participated in industry events such as the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference. Here she learned the American way of business — hire the best, play at the highest level, and move fast.
From April 2015 to August 2019, she served as Director of Clinical Operations at Saniona in Denmark. She led a special program for children with genetic diseases and obesity, an experience that deeply influenced her commitment to health-driven charity projects.
In 2018, she took on dual roles. She became Head of Clinical Operations for Central and Eastern Europe at Tesla Medical s.r.o., and also Global Director of Clinical Operations for the USA and China at PegBio Co., Ltd. Her work with PegBio allowed her to navigate complex projects between American and Chinese teams, mastering cross-cultural collaboration and bringing innovative therapies to market.
In July 2022, Pavlína became Managing Director for Central and Eastern Europe and Head of Global Business Development at GCP-Service International in Germany. She expanded business operations, developed strategic investor relationships, and championed AI applications in clinical research.
In May 2013, Pavlína founded Shasta Medical, a consultancy dedicated to strategic advice for clinical trials and healthcare innovation. Through Shasta Medical, she has advised global biotech and medtech companies, investors, and insurance providers, with a focus on phases 2 and 3 of product development.
In March 2025, she became Managing Director of the Czech Association for Health Improvement (AZVD). In this role, she drives initiatives to improve the health of employees across the Czech Republic, organises workshops and events, and promotes preventive healthcare, oncology awareness, and mental health support.
Throughout her career, Pavlína has combined business leadership with humanitarian work. She founded a non-profit in Indonesia to improve children’s education and health, building schools and supporting poor families. She has also worked on projects in Africa to combat preeclampsia, a deadly condition affecting pregnant women and their babies.
Pavlína is currently completing a PhD in artificial intelligence for medical applications. She also serves as Co-Founder of InScreening, a company developing advanced diagnostic scanners for prevention and early detection, and is building a European network for licensing and deploying these technologies.
Her achievements include:
Managing multi-country operations before the age of 30 and delivering one of the most profitable regions in her company.
Founding and leading a consultancy that has supported international biotech and medtech projects for more than a decade.
Bridging continents and cultures by successfully managing projects between the US, Europe, and China.
Leading programs that combine healthcare innovation with measurable social impact in Indonesia and Africa.
Serving as a trusted partner to investors, innovators, regulators, and healthcare providers in advancing AI-powered prevention and diagnostics.
Today, Pavlína works between Prague and France, building networks that connect innovation to impact. She is driven by the belief that healthcare innovation must be global from day one, that prevention is the most powerful medicine, and that technology succeeds only when it serves people.
